Welcome from Nuala O'Kane, Chair
Thank you for your interest in Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust 'Shropcom' and this exceptional opportunity to become our new Chief Executive. I hope that you will enjoy exploring this site to find out more about our organisation, our services, and our culture.
We are a successful Community Health provider rated Good by the CQC in all domains having been on a significant improvement journey over the last five years. We operate with a strong people first culture across a large diverse geography in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin as well as providing some services in surrounding areas. We also play an active and connecting role in the wider Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin STP working with partners to establish sustainable and integrated solutions that improve outcomes for our populations and that work better for those providing care.
Our previous substantive Chief Executive left in March this year to take up a new leadership challenge. At that time, we appointed David Stout to act as Chief Executive on an interim basis whilst we reviewed, in partnership with the local health and care system and our regulators, the strategic options for the future leadership of our services. Whilst Covid has been a significant additional challenge impacting us during this review period, we have become closer as a system and have concluded, with full support of partners and regulators, that we should continue as a provider of community services and that we should seek to appoint a substantive Chief Executive to lead the organisation through the next chapter of development. Our new Chief Executive will continue the work to position Shropcom as the connecting partner in a challenged health and care system.
Given this context we are seeking an inclusive leader with a clear understanding of and belief in how to deliver services in partnership across a system. The role will require a strategic leader with vision and ambition, this is an opportunity to lead a talented workforce delivering high quality services whilst working with our system partners to deliver long term solutions for place-based care that will meet the needs of our populations.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an aspiring or existing Chief Executive to build on a successful platform and truly develop the future shape of community-based health services for the populations we serve and for our hugely committed workforce who deliver those services.
I hope you are as inspired by this opportunity and that you will be interested in applying for the role.
